Strawberries and Potassium

Potassium is an important nutrient to balance electrolytes, aid healthy muscle contractions and maintain healthy blood pressure. The DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension), rich in fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, lean meats and low fat dairy products, was clinically proven by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to help maintain healthy blood pressure levels and healthy cholesterol levels.

Eight medium strawberries provide 210 milligrams of potassium. Other good sources of potassium include bananas, oranges and grapes.
