Strawberries and Fiber

Most Americans need to add more fiber to their diet. According to the American Dietetic Association, Americans only consume 12 to 15 of the recommended 20 to 35 grams of fiber per day. One serving of strawberries, which contains 3 grams of dietary fiber, makes a good contribution to the daily requirement. Other good sources of fiber are apples, bananas and oranges.

Dietary fiber has well-known health benefits such as maintaining healthy cholesterol levels and promoting a healthy digestive system.
